DOES ADULT COLORING ACTUALLY EMULATE THE EFFECTS OF MEDITATION?
There are many claims by others that certainly believe coloring is a form of meditation. When you meditate, your brain enters a relaxed state by focusing on the present. It also helps block out the nonstop thoughts we all experience on a daily basis. As a result from mediating, we should reach a state of calm that relieves our brains from the daily stresses of life.
Speaking for myself only, my mind just won't quit thinking. That is where drawing, creating and coloring come into the meditative state-of-mind for me. You see, I find that by sitting and drawing I can lower my stress levels, connect better, improve my focus, and in doing so, I'm kinder to myself.
